CURATOR:

Theo Hauben / HAU / Hauben architecture & urbanism / the Netherlands

A better future for the city is embedded in the existing situation. With the workshops we try to discover the existing qualities of the city and we search for some new perspectives for the public domain and the present building structures. The goal is to find new (design) tools to equip a new generation of architects better for the challenges of our time.

TUTOR:

ELENA ARCHIPOVAITE

This workshop is about the publicness of space in Kiev. Rather than focusing on the physical properties of public spaces, this workshop will scrutinize public space uses and the functions they hold in the lives of the citizens. Along this line during the workshop we will question, how publicness of space in Kiev might relate to the overall cultural life of urban city fabric. Perception of public space has changed throughout history of Ukraine and today we want to invite the Stakeholder of Ivan Honchar Museum to share and discuss how they do relate to these spaces and how they could participate in placemaking their city and living environment.

The language of the workshop is ENGLISH.
