You’re statement is not always the case. I bought a Summit county house seven years ago with 20% down. The Summit County homes payment was a fraction of my income even with the summit county property taxes. In the seven years since buying it, the monthly payment has increased $300 a month due to school levies (which by the way have been ruled unconstitutional in my state, but we are forced to continue paying for summit county real estate listings).
That being said, deregulation of the summit county real estate mortgage industry was a huge mistake. It can be hard enough for someone in my summit county mls situation to afford it, let alone the real estate mortgage industry was giving $200,000 loans to someone making $40,000 or less a year.
Some summit county real estate will realize that this ratio is absurd, but apparently with all the money I am paying in school levies our society is not learning anything.
